Beaufort Park Wayfinding Scheme: A Tribute to Aviation Heritage

Inspired by the area’s rich aviation history, Air was tasked with developing the external wayfinding scheme for Beaufort Park, North London’s most dynamic and up-and-coming destination, owned by Berkeley Group. This vibrant mixed-use development features an elegant blend of residential, recreational, and green spaces, creating a thriving community environment.

Beaufort Park offers luxurious apartments and penthouses set against the backdrop of tree-lined boulevards and beautifully landscaped courtyards. Spanning 25 acres, the development includes exclusive health and fitness facilities and enchanting parklands, making it a truly distinctive destination for residents and visitors alike.

Air’s primary objective was to craft a wayfinding scheme that seamlessly integrates the contemporary architecture with the natural beauty of the landscaped surroundings. The design needed to not only enhance navigation but also embody the spirit of the area’s heritage.

Drawing from the aviation legacy, our design incorporates elements inspired by aircraft rivets and wing shapes. These design features serve as a bold homage to the area’s historical connection to aviation, bringing to life an era of British innovation and progress. The signage is designed to be both functional and symbolic, providing clear directional guidance while reinforcing the identity of Beaufort Park as a place rooted in history yet looking towards the future.

The result is a cohesive wayfinding system that unites the diverse aspects of Beaufort Park, ensuring that residents and visitors can easily navigate its facilities while enjoying an immersive experience steeped in heritage. By balancing modern aesthetics with historical references, the scheme reflects the community’s character and the Berkeley Group’s vision for this exceptional destination.

Air’s work at Beaufort Park exemplifies how thoughtful design can transform a practical solution into an enriching narrative, creating a deeper connection between people and place.
