As experts in wayfinding and signage design, Air Design creates impactful, user-focused solutions that enhance connectivity and enrich public spaces. In partnership with Berkeley Group, we developed an award-winning, fully recyclable wayfinding system for Kidbrooke Village in London.

This innovative scheme not only unifies residential areas with retail spaces, offices, food and beverage outlets, green spaces, local cultural landmarks, and art installations, but also fosters increased community interaction and enhances the overall streetscape of the area.

Kidbrooke Village

Kidbrooke Village, located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, stands as a testament to innovative urban design. This dynamic development consists of four unique neighbourhoods, each carefully crafted to blend seamlessly into one vibrant, interconnected community. The development unites residential areas, retail spaces, offices, food and beverage outlets, green spaces, and cultural landmarks, creating a space that encourages interaction among residents, workers, and visitors. Art installations and green areas further enrich the environment, enhancing the streetscape and promoting a sense of place.

Design Excellence

The wayfinding system is essential in guiding both residents and visitors through this diverse urban landscape. It ensures smooth navigation across the various zones, supporting the creation of a lively, integrated living environment. The system is not just functional but serves to connect the different elements of the village, contributing to the overall user experience.

Award winning

Kidbrooke Village has garnered numerous prestigious awards, recognizing its exceptional contributions to both design and sustainability. Notably, the development was honored with Best Placemaking at the Sunday Times British Home Awards, which highlights its dedication to crafting a cohesive and vibrant community. Furthermore, it was awarded Best Sustainable Development and Best Regeneration Scheme by Whathouse?, underscoring its transformative and eco-friendly approach to urban renewal.

Additionally, Air Design was awarded Gold for Wayfinding and Signage at the Transform Awards, further solidifying the project’s success. This recognition acknowledges the wayfinding system’s role in improving the overall user experience, ensuring smooth navigation, and effectively connecting the various areas within the village. This achievement highlights how thoughtful design can enhance the seamless integration of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces at Kidbrooke Village.
