Air Design showcases the vision and potential of mixed-use destinations through cohesive redevelopment branding and progressive design solutions.
The Bargate Quarter brand strategy supported the redevelopment of the former Bargate Shopping Centre into a vibrant mixed-use destination, reconnecting the area with Southampton’s city centre. Air Design developed the Bargate Quarter brand strategy for Tellon Capital, creating an impactful brand identity, investor brochures, a dynamic website, and marketing collateral to communicate Bargate Quarter’s transformation and appeal to investors and the community.
The Bargate Quarter brand strategy was developed to tell a story of discovery — rooting a contemporary mixed-use development in the history of one of England’s best-preserved medieval town gates. The visual identity, investor brochures, and marketing collateral were designed to communicate the potential of the site to developers, occupiers, and the local community simultaneously. While the development programme has faced delays, the brand strategy and investor materials Air Design produced remain central to the project’s ongoing promotion. This type of early-stage place branding — where the design has to do the work of a development that doesn’t yet exist — is one of the more demanding briefs in our portfolio.
