Previous Work for Shoosmiths

“Air Design is a specialist law firm design consultancy for branding. In collaboration with Shoosmiths, a prominent law firm with 1,500 lawyers, we undertook a rebranding initiative that not only aligns with the firm’s strategic goals but also supports its financial growth.

The design embraces spacious layouts and a minimalist aesthetic, effectively balancing compelling visuals with understated sophistication. As a result, this refreshed branding positions Shoosmiths as a forward-thinking firm. Furthermore, it aligns with the firm’s vision, enhances its presence in the legal sector, and reinforces its competitive position while contributing to its overall success.

Focusing on evolution over revolution, our aim was to provide the firm with a refined representation of its existing brand identity. To this end, we ensured that the updated branding retained familiarity while introducing meaningful improvements. Crucially, we allocated space within the identity system to accommodate Shoosmiths’ growth aspirations over the next decade. In addition, the way forward involved transitioning to a more contemporary and upscale brand identity, which better reflects the firm’s ambitions and future trajectory.

The result

As a testament to the success of this initiative, Shoosmiths reported a 6% revenue increase in the 2023/24 financial year, reaching £206.7 million. Additionally, the firm experienced a 5% rise in profits, achieving £66 million. This outcome not only highlights the effectiveness of the rebranding but also validates the collaborative efforts behind it. Moreover, this project underscores the importance of tailored design in reinforcing brand identity within a competitive sector.”
