In 2012, Air Design was appointed to reposition the brand identity of Galeria, the leading retail-entertainment complex in St. Petersburg, Russia, after it was acquired by Morgan Stanley. The goal was to refine its brand to reflect sophistication, modernity, and elegance, aligning it with current fashion trends and stylish living.

Galeria, covering 192,000 sqm, is a multifaceted shopping and entertainment destination with over 250 stores, a hypermarket, 5 department stores, a multi-screen cinema, a fitness center, and recreational facilities. This diverse offering creates a vibrant, experiential space beyond traditional retail.

The new logo designed by Air combined both Roman and Cyrillic versions of the letter “G,” crafting an elegant and contemporary visual identity that resonated with the complex’s aspiration for a timeless, yet modern, look. This design choice reflected Galeria’s goal to be a stylish and aspirational destination. The logo continues to be one of Air’s most admired creations. In addition to the visual identity, Air provided comprehensive brand guidelines to ensure consistency across future branding and design initiatives.

This project laid the foundation for Air’s future collaboration with Morgan Stanley, leading to the creation of the branding for Metropolis, another top shopping destination in Moscow, in 2014.

The branding work for Galeria reflects how thoughtful design can elevate a space, making it not just a place to shop but an experience that reflects modern luxury and style.
