Introducing Bobby!

We are delighted to share our interview with Bobby, one of our designers at Air.

Since joining us in February, Bobby has done great work and has quickly integrated into the team. Below are his responses to the questions we were interested to learn more about.

Thanks to Bobby for sharing his insight. We hope you enjoy getting to know him as much as we have!

Company Culture
How would you describe the culture at Air, and what key factors influenced your decision to join our team?

“An aspect that influenced my decision to join Air was the number of long-term employees, which was a positive indicator. Now that I’m here, I understand why: it’s a place with great people who care about their work and know how to enjoy themselves along the way.”

Background
What significant experiences prior to joining Air have influenced your career, and how do they shape your work here in terms of your style, collaboration, and overall approach?

“I have always considered myself an empathetic person and designer—a quality I believe is important as both a colleague and collaborator, but absolutely essential in wayfinding. It’s about always putting the user first, which is why this design discipline feels like a natural fit for me.”

Reflecting
How do you reflect on your transition into Air, and what defining moments have shaped your journey?

“It’s still very early days for me, and this is my first experience in wayfinding. It’s a steep learning curve, but I’m relishing the challenge. Everyone at Air wants you to succeed and is always looking for ways to help you develop to make it happen.”

Personal Development Goals
What personal development goals are you currently pursuing, and what strategies are you implementing to achieve them?

“I am excited to immerse myself in all things wayfinding. Whether it’s attending Sign Design Society talks or visiting sign manufacturers, I believe this skill set will put me in good stead as I move forward in my career.”

Looking Forward
As Air continues to grow and evolve, what types of projects are you most excited to be part of, and how do you envision your growth alongside the company?

“In the future, I’d love to be involved in projects where we can provide a full branding, placemaking and wayfinding service for sports stadiums and cultural spaces like museums and galleries. I want to do meaningful work with great people and make a positive impact on the world.”
