Air Design offered a tailored, cohesive package of solutions for the Allee mall branding and wayfinding that reinforces identity, enhanced navigation, and improved the customer experience.
As one of Budapest’s premier retail and leisure destinations, Allee is renowned for its vibrant shopping atmosphere and diverse entertainment options, attracting over 16.5 million visitors annually.
The centre recently underwent a comprehensive €18 million refurbishment, upgrading both its interior and exterior spaces. This modernisation included an expanded food court, updated facilities, and significant sustainability investments, such as energy-efficient lighting and a 710sqm solar installation, solidifying its reputation as one of Europe’s most sustainable retail destinations.
Air Design revitalised the Allee mall branding and wayfinding, creating a refreshed logo with a playful, approachable aesthetic. The branding update retained the original amoeba-like “A” symbols, pairing them with a lowercase logotype featuring stylised, smiling “e’s” for a friendly, modern appeal.
The wayfinding system at Allee was designed to complement rather than compete with the centre’s refreshed interior architecture. Timber accents in the signage structures echo the natural material palette used throughout the refurbishment, creating a coherent environmental experience from the car park through to the retail floors. The ‘Meet & Eat’ dining zone received particular attention directional signage was optimised to draw visitors toward the food court from all major circulation routes, supporting footfall to the expanded F&B offer. Allee’s 710 sqm solar installation and energy-efficient lighting upgrades also informed the brief the wayfinding system was specified to minimise material waste and maximise longevity, consistent with the centre’s broader sustainability commitments.
